Rebecca Rittenhouse didn't know the twist ending of His & Hers when she auditioned
Rittenhouse, who plays Lexy Jones in Netflix's thriller His & Hers, didn't know about THAT reveal until she got to set. And yes, we are going to spoil exactly what THAT is

Spoilers follow for Netflix's His & Hers season 1.
There's quite a lot of shocking stuff that goes on in the Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal-starring thriller His & Hers, just recently added to Netflix and already a runaway success... and when it comes to folks who were the most surprised, the pool wasn't just limited to the kind on our side of the screen. Rebecca Rittenhouse, who plays the character of Lexy Jones, recently revealed that the biggest twist regarding her character wasn't something she knew until after she already got the role.
The quote comes from an interview Rittenhouse did with The Hollywood Reporter, and I'm going to warn you oone last time - it's an interview in which the Maggie actor spoils the big reveal at the end of the show. Last chance to come back once you've finished it, folks!
Still here? OK, great - so by the end of His & Hers, which revolves around a series of murders in a small community, it looks pretty much certain that Lexy is the macabre mastermind the whole thing. But just as the series (first season?) is about to end, it is revealed that Jones had actually been framed - and shortly thereafter, shuffles off her own mortal coil.
"When I was auditioning," recounted the actor, "It was very protected information. I knew there was a big twist, but I didn’t know exactly what happened with her."
Rittenhouse went on to explain that the truth only made it her way, "right when I got to Atlanta to shoot," some time after she signed on. So what did the actor think about this shocking twist unbeknownst even to her?
"As I thought about it," she said, "I was like, wait, it’s so much easier for me as an actor to empathize with this character [...] I felt like it allowed me to have a more human experience with the performance, because she was bad, but I also felt bad for her. I mean, she’s not a good person, but she’s not a psychopath."
These days, it's honestly a pretty good distinction.
His & Hers is streaming on Netflix now.
Fade to credits, then a pop-up of what to watch read next - just like Netflix:
