Kaguya-sama: Love is War remains one of the best rom-coms you'll ever see, so getting more of it is always a treat

If you love romantic comedy anime, you’ve probably seen Kaguya-sama: Love is War. It has been more than two years since the movie covered The First Kiss That Never Ends arc, but there is still plenty of Kaguya-sama manga to adapt. Fortunately, a new Kaguya-sama: Love is War anime TV special has been announced, titled The Stairway to Adulthood.

No release date has been confirmed, but just the knowledge that more Kaguya-sama: Love is War anime is on the way is enough to make our rom-com senses tingle. The last we saw of Kaguya and Shirogane, they had settled into a more grown-up version of their relationship, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t plenty of manga to adapt. While most romance manga end the moment the pair get together, Kaguya-sama: Love is War continues to show some of the awkward realities of suddenly being in your first relationship.
We still have the moments when their classmates find out they are dating, the first time they sleep together, and the time the team has to rescue Kaguya from her incredibly rich and powerful family using nothing but their wits and a pile of cash they “borrowed” from said family. There are plenty of silly moments left in the manga and it remains one of the funniest romantic comedies you will ever see in any medium, but there are also some heartfelt scenes that deserve to get the anime treatment. These moments are what set Kaguya-sama: Love is War apart from other romantic comedies and we can't wait to see them on our screens.
We don’t have a release date for the new Kaguya-sama: Love is War anime special. From the visual that has been released, it may cover up to the final chapter of the manga, which would be a lot to cram into a single special. We’re still holding out hope against hope that a fourth season is in the works as well.
