Love Island All Stars Season 3 put on indefinite hold after "act of God"

Turns out the only thing that can stop Love Island is divine intervention in the form of South African wildfires.

There are so many seasons and versions of Love Island that it feels unavoidable. The allure of sexy singles doing sexy single things is simply too much to resist. In fact, you could argue that it would take an act of God to take Love Island off the air, which appears to be what has happened to Love Island All Stars Season 3, as the South African wildfires have forced producers to shut down the villa and halt production of the ITV hit.

This is a big change simply because the premiere of Love Island: All Stars Season 3 was meant to be today, January 12, with a US air date on January 14, but that is being postponed due to the fires. “Further to a production evacuation owing to the ongoing wildfires in the area, our assessment of the location site has concluded that filming will need to be postponed,” ITV said in a statement. “Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island: All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed.”

That means that the start date for the new series of Love Island doesn’t have a release date.  Love Island: All Stars, like the rest of the sprawling franchise, films very close to its air date to allow fans to vote on what happens in the villa as it happens. Filming for the new season was meant to take place over the previous weekend.

Love Island: All Stars Season 3 is still happening, but the delay due to the South African wildfires means that we do not currently have a release date for the new season.
