No one is quite as passionate as Love Island fans, something that has turned ugly in the past.

Look, we get it. We’re all passionate about Love Island. No matter the country of origin, it is a series that has some of the most vocal fans out there. However, there is a point where that fandom can turn dark and cause actual harm to the contestants on Love Island. That’s what the production crew for Love Island USA is trying to avoid as they issued a statement to fans to keep online discussions civil.
“We appreciate the fans, the passion for the series, and the amazing group of Islanders who are sharing their summer with us,” the statement on Love Island USA’s social media said. “Please just remember they’re real people – so let’s be kind and spread the love!”
As if that wasn't enough of a warning, Peacock aired a bumper during the latest episode that made the warning more explicit. "The keyword in Love Island is… LOVE. We love our fans. We love our Islanders. We don’t love cyberbullying, harassment or hate."
Every season, the discourse around Love Island gets more intense as we all get to know the Islanders better and get more upset when our favorite gets voted off. This particular round of negativity comes as Jeremiah and Hannah were voted out. They were fan-favorites and people have zeroed in on Ace as the cause of their departure.
It is important to note that this is a known issue on Love Island. In fact, three contestants on Love Island UK have committed suicide after leaving the show due to the intense scrutiny of fans, causing them to increase their care for Islanders’ mental health after the show ends. So, this is the US version of the show taking their duty of care for the contestants seriously.
The next episode of Love Island USA season 7 will air on June 26, 2025.
