Cunk on Marvel: Diane Morgan joins the MCU as surprise VisionQuest addition

Cunk on Earth-616? It's more likely than you'd think, with actress Diane Morgan joining the fray in Marvel Studios's VisionQuest

We've seen actress Diane Morgan traipse through human history and the Earth's natural wonders as her deadpan character Philomena Cunk, but there's still another frontier for her to venture into: the MCU. While the VisionQuest trailer has already been screened to a lucky group of fans at New York Comic Con 2025, Marvel Studios still has a few more tricks up its sleeve. Namely, Diane Morgan has been cast in VisionQuest, with more details about her role kept under wraps for the time being.

As reported by Variety, Morgan is reported to be playing "an associate" of Paladin, the latter of whom is portrayed by Todd Stashwick. In Marvel Comics, Paladin is a mercenary. At this time, it's not known what being an "associate" of Paladin will entail for Diane Morgan's character. But knowing the popularity of Morgan's Philomena Cunk character, we hope that the MCU will take advantage of her deadpan comedy skills.

Morgan is the latest actress known for her comedy chops to join the MCU. Earlier this year, Geraldine Viswanathan had a supporting role in Thunderbolts* as the assistant of Julia Louis-Dreyfus's Val. Viswanathan replaced Emmy-winner Ayo Edibiri, who had to drop out of the film due to scheduling conflicts. Thus far, the VisionQuest casting announcements have largely emphasized the numerous AI and android characters in the series, making Morgan's casting news a surprise. Whatever comes of Morgan's role in VisionQuest, we hope she gets plenty of screentime.

VisionQuest will star Paul Bettany, James Spader, T'Nia Miller, Emily Hampshire, Orla Brady, and more, as the android Avenger tries to make peace with both his "father," Ultron, and his grown-up son, Tommy. The show is expected to arrive on Disney+ in late 2026.
