We are at the time of year when the days are short and the nights long. The weather is cooler, and with all the dead leaves flying around, it puts us all in a mood for a good cozy mystery. That's where Midsomer Murders comes in. And luckily for all of us, the long-running British mystery show is returning soon for its 25th season.
Midsomer Murders season 25 release date is December 8, 2025. The series will be streaming on Acorn TV. New episodes will drop weekly. Take a peek at the trailer below.
According to Acorn TV, season 25 of Midsomer Murders will consist of 4 episodes, and features "a mudlarking murder to a bowling club killing and a grammar school homicide, DCI Barnaby (Neil Dudgeon, Life of Riley) and DS Winter (Nick Hendrix, Marcella) solve perplexing crimes while also exploring the quirks of their delightfully picturesque yet deadly shire. As ever, DCI Barnaby is also joined by the inimitable pathologist Dr. Fleur Perkins (Annette Badland, Ted Lasso), his wife Sarah (Fiona Dolman, Unforgotten), daughter Betty (Isabel Shaw), and loveable dog Paddy."
Here's the part where I drop that I've never heard of lawn bowling before this, but I feel like its existence makes sense. Here's to hoping I learn something about the game when the season starts streaming.
Midsomer Murders season 25 will begin streaming on December 8, 2025 on Acorn TV.
