NCIS: Sydney Season 3 recap: What to remember before Season 4 debuts on CBS

The spinoff series follows a task force that combines agents from NCIS and Australian Federal Police.

NCIS is CBS's longest-running scripted drama series, and it's spawned a franchise that encompasses seven television shows as well as video games, novels and other related tie-ins. One of the spinoff shows that will be returning is NCIS: Sydney, which will debut its fourth season on CBS in 2027. So what do you need to remember in advance of the release date of NCIS: Sydney Season 4 on CBS?

What is NCIS: Sydney?

NCIS: Sydney follows a fictional task force comprised of agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP). Set in Sydney, Australia, NCIS: Sydney has proved to be a huge hit, and is the most popular show on Paramount+ in Australia. In the first episode of the series, the task force is formed after a United States Navy sailor dies of radiation poisoning.

The show features Olivia Swann as NCIS Supervisory Special Agent Michelle Mackey, Todd Lasance as AFP Second-in-Command Sergeant Jim "JD" Dempsey, Sean Sagar as NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Anthony Jackson, Tuuli Narkle as AFP Liaison Officer Constable Evie Cooper, Mavournee Hazel as AFP forensic scientist Bluebird "Blue" Gleeson and William McInnes as AFP forensic pathologist Roy "Rosie" Penrose.

What happened in the NCIS: Sydney Season 3 finale?

In the NCIS: Sydney Season 3 finale, a huge cliffhanger took place. The episode's conclusion saw SA Mackey jumping out of a plane alongside her ex, Ryan Brady (Ryan Panizza). In doing so, she left her phone behind on the plane. Meanwhile, antagonist Lee Meyers (Angus Sampson) avoids being taken out by selling the Collective's operation to the U.S. drug czar.

Currently a specific release date has yet to be announced, but you can expect NCIS: Sydney Season 4 to debut on CBS in 2027, with episodes available for streaming on Paramount+ the next day.
