NCIS: Sydney renewed by CBS for Season 4: When to expect the show's return
The popular Australian-based spin-off of NCIS will return for a fourth season, but fans shouldn't look for it until 2027

The season finale of NCIS: Sydney Season 3 aired on May 12th, 2026, leading devotees of the franchise to question whether the show would be renewed for another season and if there would be a speedy resolution to Mackey's romantic woes. We can answer yes to the first question - CBS has indeed ordered NCIS: Sydney Season 4. But it's not arriving until early 2027.
NCIS: Sydney is an installment in the long-running NCIS franchise. The first NCIS spinoff to take place outside of the United States, NCIS: Sydney is an Australian military police procedural that follows a task force comprised of NCIS and Australian Federal Police officers. The upcoming fourth season is expected to see the return of NCIS Supervisory Special Agent Michelle Mackey (Olivia Swann), AFP Sergeant Jim "JD" Dempsey (Todd Lasance), NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson (Sean Sagar), AFP Liaison Officer Constable Evie Cooper (Tuuli Narkle), AFP forensic scientist Bluebird "Blue" Gleeson (Mavournee Hazel) and AFP forensic pathologist Roy "Rosie" Penrose (William McInnes).
Unlike the other NCIS shows in the 2026-2027 television season, NCIS: Sydney is being held back until midseason before returning. (The reason for this is to create space on the schedule for new series NCIS: New York, which debuts in the 9pm ET/PT timeslot this fall.) This means that, although CBS has yet to announce an official return date for the show, NCIS: Sydney Season 4 will begin in January 2027.
