The Lego One Piece based on the Netflix series have already sold out two of their sets less than a week into pre-orders
We knew Luffy and the Straw Hats would be popular in Lego form, but we didn't know they would be quite this popular.

When we first spotted that Lego was putting together a One Piece set based on the live-action Netflix series, we didn’t realize just how extensive the collection would be. There are five different sets that go on sale on August 1. However, we’re not sure even Lego could foresee how popular the Netflix One Piece sets would be. Two Lego One Piece sets have already sold out during the pre-order phase.
Last week, Lego revealed the five One Piece sets that they first teased back in January. We were intrigued by how they panned to do the iconic stretching powers that Luffy is known for, but now we’re just impressed at how quickly fans have jumped at the chance to take Luffy and the Straw Hats home. The two most expensive sets, the Baratie Floating Restaurant ($329.99) and Going Merry ($129.99), have both sold out of their pre-orders, meaning that fans will have to wait until the sets go on sale to the general public to get their hands on them.

Considering how popular the Netflix series has been and the amount of hype around the long-awaited second season, we shouldn’t be as surprised as we are, but here we are. It is certainly a sign that the excitement around One Piece is still growing as it branches into different mediums. If the Lego sets are going to sell this way, there will probably be more toy tie-ins coming soon. If we’re lucky, it will even pave the way for other anime properties to get the Lego treatment soon.
