One Piece season 2 trailer has dropped and we think Netflix is making a few changes to Nico Robin's storyline
We're not going to complain about getting more Nico Robin screentime

One Piece has always been a story of immense joy mixed with intense sorrow. No one embodies that quite as much as Nico Robin, which is probably why the half-second of Nico Robin showing up in the trailer for One Piece season two on Netflix is making fans everywhere celebrate. And it looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of her than we did during this point in the original manga.
As we expected, Netflix celebrated One Piece Day by dropping the first trailer for season two of their live-action adaptation of the iconic manga. And, in that trailer, we got to see one of the most important characters in One Piece, Nico Robin, for the first time. Played by Lera Abova, Nico Robin quite literally bursts into the trailer in a flurry of sakura blossoms, which gives us a small hint as to how Netflix plans to expand the character’s role in season two.
When you see sakura petals, the first thing that comes to mind for One Piece fans is the excellent Drum Island arc. However, Nico Robin is never on Drum Island. She makes a brief appearance just after the Whisky Peak arc and then only occasionally shows up again until the Alabasta arc as a minor antagonist.
Remember that Netflix’s One Piece show has never been afraid to change around the order of character appearances and even expand on how much characters show up throughout the series. That is why Vice Admiral Garp, who didn’t make an appearance until much later in the manga, became a recurring antagonist of season one. If we had to guess, Netflix is going to give us more Nico Robin in season two of One Piece before the final showdown with Sir Crocodile that happens in the (now confirmed) third season. And trust us, we don’t think that fans are going to be upset at getting more Nico Robin.
One Piece season two is coming to Netflix in 2026, with a third season officially confirmed to be produced as well.
