Netflix promises an update on One Piece coming on One Piece Day this weekend
Is it a new trailer? A release date? Or is Netflix finally ready to admit One Piece season 3 is happening?

Fans of One Piece have been having a pretty good time lately. The anime is back after its longest hiatus ever and we just got our first look at (and listen to) the live-action Tony Tony Chopper a few weeks ago. Now we’re set for yet another big announcement from Netflix about their One Piece series – and it is coming along with One Piece Day 2025.
For those who don’t know, One Piece Day is August 9 this year, and it is a massive celebration of everything from Eiichiro Oda’s iconic pirate manga. When new shows or movies are announced, they often come as part of One Piece Day. Netflix is once again getting in on the action by teasing a big announcement on social media. Along with a new picture of the main Straw Hat cast from the set of season two, Netflix has said that they’ll have a big announcement to share this weekend. “The seas are restless and rumors from the Grand Line speak of something BIG approaching this One Piece Day!” the post says.
What exactly does that mean? With the show not due out until 2026, a release date feels like a distant chance. Even a trailer seems unlikely this far out. Unless One Piece season two is coming in January 2026, it feels unlikely they would start promoting it so heavily this early. So what does that leave us?
If we were betting, we’d say that Netflix is going to officially confirm that One Piece is coming back for season three. Considering how often the cast keeps talking about season three, it would be the easiest announcement to make. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait much longer to find out what Netflix has planned for its live-action One Piece series.
