Another One Piece actor - this time Joe Manganiello - has confirmed that season 3 is happening before Netflix has mentioned it

The Sir Crocodile actor said he'd be back on set for season 3 of One Piece later in 2025, all while we're still waiting for an official release date for season 2.

We’re all eyeing the upcoming Netflix TUDUM event at the end of May for news on season two of One Piece, including a good look at Tony Tony Chopper in the live-action series. However, it feels like everyone involved in the show other than Netflix is confirming that season three is on the way as well, as Joe Manganiello has confirmed that he’s coming back for the still-unconfirmed next season.

Speaking to Cinemablend, Joe Manganiello, who is playing Sir Crocodile in season two of One Piece, confirmed that not only is he excited for what we get to see of his character in the upcoming season, but he’ll be back on set later this year to film season three. “We’ve taken a break between season two and season three, so yeah, I’ll be heading back later this year and we’ll be working on the next part of the story. So that’s about all I could say.”

Considering that Netflix has been completely silent on the prospect of One Piece season three, that is actually a pretty big update from Manganiello. Of course, he isn’t the first actor from the show to confirm that season three is going ahead. Zoro’s actor Mackenyu confirmed the same earlier this year, while Vice Admiral Garp’s actor mentioned that One Piece season three was happening back in 2024. We’re starting to wonder if anyone at Netflix told these folks that they shouldn’t just drop news like this without their approval first.

Season two of One Piece still doesn’t have a release date, but we’ve now had three different actors from the live-action show confirm that season three is happening before Netflix has confirmed it, which makes this perhaps the worst-kept secret in television.
