I have good news for my fellow Luke Cage fans: Mike Colter is back as Marvel's Power Man in the MCU. The actor made his return in the season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again, reuniting with Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones and their daughter, Danielle.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Krysten Ritter shared how she responded when she found out that there was an opportunity for Mike Colter to return as Luke Cage.
"I was so excited. We were talking about it on set with Sana [Amanat, Marvel executive producer]," she explained. "It was just like a whisper of an idea at the time, and I loved it so much that I was like, 'We have to do it and the scene should be like this and I'm gonna call Mike [Colter] right now and tell him to do it.'"
Elsewhere in the interview, she elaborated, "We didn't know if it would be Mike or not, but I was so excited because it sets up what's to come and gives us a little bit of a window into where their story could go."
Thankfully, Marvel Studios was able to coordinate all of the actors' schedules so that the family reunion scene could take place, delighting fans who'd been waiting to see the two onscreen together since the end of the Netflix Marvel era, years earlier.
