Quarterback season 2 release date: Netflix's football documentary kicks off again this summer

Quarterback is returning for a season 2 on Netflix. So what shall we call it? 2Quarter2Back? Football is weird.

American football frightens me. And I say that as a hockey player and a rugby fan. But to stop being facetious for a moment (he types, while repeatedly whispering to himself, 'Don't talk about Bill Belichick, Don't talk about Bill Belichick-'), I can see why a documentary series like Quarterback would exist in the first place. When you're at a football game, even if you are very rich and/or Taylor Swift, you are so far away from the players. What goes on inside those thick-but-somehow-not-protective-enough helmets? Quarterback gives us that glimpse into the men who throw the ball.

Quarterback season 2 will be released on Netflix sometime in July, 2025. Netflix hasn't specified a date yet, but keep in the loop with us on here for the exact date, and we'll have the details once they come out (alongside the premiere dates for all the new television series coming this summer). The streamer posted this silly teaser for the upcoming season, which you can watch below.

To address the elephant in the room as a former New England Patriots fan raised in New York (I don't participate in American football anymore for a lot of reasons, one of them being that I find pro soccer memes funnier), I would like a documentary that explores what the hell happened with Tom Brady. Why did he post a picture of a sunset set to The Chicks' cover of Fleetwood Mac's Landslide onto his Instagram story? Social media broke down the walls separating players from fans, and I feel very weird seeing Tom Brady trying to "post through it." But then again, aren't we all posting through it these days? I've talked myself into a corner here.

Quarterback season 2 will be released on Netflix in July, 2025.
