Nicolas Cage's Spider-Noir show is coming to Prime Video this May and the hype grows for the show with each passing day - especially considering that the last time that fans saw Cage's Spider-Noir was in 2023's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movie, whose sequel, Beyond the Spider-Verse, we are still waiting on. (It's finally arriving in 2027.)
That said, however, don't expect the upcoming Spider-Noir show to tie in with the Spider-Verse movies, as the Spider-Noir showrunner, Oren Uziel, explained to Empire magazine.
"Same character, different universe. It’s a different flavor of that character, even though it’s still Nick’s voice. It’s not a continuation of Into the Spider-Verse. Once [Into the Spider-Verse directors] Phil [Lord] and Chris [Miller] introduced the idea of the multiverse, I think you’re allowed to take things and make them your own," Uziel said.
So don't expect to see Nicolas Cage's Spider-Noir marvel over a Rubik's Cube in the Prime Video show, in other words. The Spider-Noir show takes place in 1930s New York City, and Cage will be joined by Li Jun Li (Sinners), Brendan Gleeson (Banshees of Inishirin), Lamorne Morris (New Girl), and Abraham Popoola (Ballerina).
Spider-Noir will hit Prime Video on May 27, 2026.
