Evil Dead icon Bruce Campbell is "so in" to be on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, despite not exactly knowing what Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is
Hey, you have to give the Evil Dead and Bubba Ho-Tep star points for being up for anything. Even if "anything" includes a Star Trek series that Bruce Campbell has never *technically* heard of

You might recall that, during the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds panel at Emerald City Comic Con 2025, star Anson Mount said that he's been angling to get someone to make a guest appearance on the show. Specifically, the Captain Pike actor said he'd do "anything to get Bruce Campbell" on the Star Trek prequel. Well, what you may not have heard yet is that that news made it to Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell himself... it's just that he didn't know what Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was.
Let's add some context here: Campbell was at ECCC 2025 for the Dead by Dawn panel, which reunited him with fellow face of the Evil Dead franchise Jane Levy. At one point in the discussion, Campbell was informed of Mount's wishes by the (very handsome!) panel moderator, and asked whether or not any conversations had happened on his end to make them come true.
"When you say Strange New Worlds," responded the Bubba Ho-Tep star, "You're referring to a show that exists? We would probably have to start by letting me know what the show is. What is the show?"
Informed that the series was a prequel to the original Star Trek, Campbell told the assembled crown that he was "so in" to make a guest appearance. Then, still on the subject of Star Trek, Campbell brought up a field with which he had far more familiarity. That was the original Star Trek Captain, James T. Kirk, AKA William Shatner. And as such, Campbell had some sage advice for the many Trekkies in the audience.
"If you ever run into Shatner," concluded Campbell, "And it’s possible, because he's still ticking! Don’t go Star Trek. Don’t go there, you’ll get no reaction. You want a reaction from William Shatner? You talk about [1980s cop show] TJ Hooker."
Thanks for the advice, Bruce. Now get to binging; you'll find Star Trek: Strange New Worlds streaming on Paramount+.
