If you've been on Popverse lately, you know we've been writing a great deal about the work that Bitsie Tulloch put into creating her performance as Lois Lane on The CW's Superman & Lois. As we've already revealed, much of her research came directly from the pages of DC Comics, but there may be even more to say of her comic book inspiration than has already said. You see, ahead of getting the role, Tulloch had only ever seen one live-action inspiration for the role.
Speaking to Popverse video editor Ashley Victoria Robinson, Tulloch said that "I had only seen the original Donner film with [Christopher] Reeve and [Margot] Kidder."
In order to make the role her own, Tulloch continued, the Grimm star "avoided" any other live action Lois Lanes. Now that her time as The CW's Lois Lane is over, however, Tulloch seems fine with checking out other iterations of the character, starting with Rachel Brosnahan's in 2025's James Gunn-dircted Superman.
"This is going to be my second time I've seen anyone else, besides myself, play Lois Lane or Superman on screen," she says. "So I'm really excited."
Superman & Lois is streaming on HBO Max now. Watch Popverse's full interview with Bitsie Tulloch below.
