We're now at a point in time where the late 2000s are fair game for a period piece setting, as is the case with Tell Me Lies on Hulu. Set in the late 2000s at the fictional Baird College in upstate New York (which sounds suspiciously similar to Bard College, 90 miles north of New York City), Tell Me Lies chronicles the drama-filled lives of college kids.

Tell Me Lies season 3 release date January 13, 2026, on Hulu. The season 3 episode titles are a mix of lyrics from songs by Bon Iver ("You Fucked It, Friend"), Interpol ("Fix Me Up, Girl"), Sublime ("I'd Like To Hold Her Head Underwater"), Megadeath ("As I Climb Onto Your Back, I Promise Not To Sting"), and, incredibly, latter-day Taylor Swift ("We Took Out All Her Teeth"). If you had told 2009 me that Taylor Swift would one day have a song where she would sing, "we took out all her teeth," and that a random lyric from Interpol's Obstacle 2 would be a Hulu show's episode title, I would have guffawed. But here we are! Both Hulu and I have come a long way from our 2009 Glee days.

Anyways, if you can't bear to wait another month for Tell Me Lies' third season, you can go ahead and read the book by Carola Lovering that it was based on. Now, the TV show changes the setting of the college that Lucy goes to from California to upstate New York, but I can't imagine that you'd hate reading a story that takes place, partly, on a California college campus, right? Don't worry, you'll still get your New York fix because Lucy lives in the Big Apple after graduation.

Tell Me Lies season 3 will be released on Hulu on January 13, 2026.
