How big is HBO Max’s The Pitt? Big enough for the big screen

If you want to see The Pitt Season 2 finale before it streams, you'll need to check your local Alamo Drafthouse cinema for showtimes.

It turns out that people really like that medical drama starring Noah Wyle. No, not ER; we’re talking about The Pitt. HBO Max is already expecting there to be a big audience for The Pitt Season 2 finale. In fact, they think it is going to be so big that it belongs on the big screen, with movie theater screenings of the season finale before it even arrives on HBO.

Just like with the Stranger Things Season 5 finale last year, HBO knows that they potentially have a big event on their hands when The Pitt Season 2 comes to an end. To capitalize on the hype around the final episode, they’ve announced that they are partnering with Alamo Drafthouse to have a series of advance screenings for The Pitt Season 2 finale.

The Alamo Drafthouse locations showing The Pitt Season 2 finale are:

  • New York City (Brooklyn)
  • Boston (Seaport)
  • Raleigh
  • Naples
  • Dallas (Cedars)
  • Austin (Mueller)
  • Denver (Westminster)
  • San Francisco (Mountain View)
  • Twin Cities (Woodbury)
  • Los Angeles (Downtown)

Here is the fun bit, though: these screenings take place on April 13, 2026, which is three days before the finale lands on HBO Max on April 16. That means that if you happen to live near one of the ten cinemas showing the episode, you can see The Pitt Season 2 finale before anyone else.

The idea, of course, is to make this final episode of the season a big event that people will talk about. It worked for Stranger Things, but that episode came out the same day that it aired on Netflix. This is giving The Pitt fans a chance to see the Season 2 finale before anyone else – provided you live near one of the aforementioned Alamo Drafthouses.
