You’ve already seen Noah Wyle portray a doctor on the beloved medical drama series ER. But more than a decade and a half after that series ended, Wyle is once again stepping into scrubs for another irresistable medical drama: The Pitt on HBO Max. After an exciting first season, The Pitt Season 2 promises to keep the drama coming. So when can you expect the release date for the show’s second season to arrive?

The Pitt Season 2 release date is January 8, 2026 on HBO Max. The second season will premiere almost exactly a year after the first season debuted on January 9, 2025. Continuing with the same release model as the first season, The Pitt Season 2 will release new episodes on a weekly basis. While there are plenty of shows to look forward to in the months to come, The Pitt Season 2 promises to deliver a specific kind of medical drama thrill. Here is the official teaser for The Pitt Season 2:

The Pitt stars Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, and the show has an enticing hook. Unlike other medical dramas, each season of The Pitt covers a single shift, with the action playing out hour-by-hour in real time. While the first season covered a shift in which vitcims of a shooting at a musical festival were treated at the hospital, the second season will be set over the course of a shift on the Fouth of July. In addition to many returning cast members, The Pitt Season 2 will see the addition of some new characters as well, including Sepideh Moafi as Dr. Al-Hashimi.

The release date for The Pitt Season 2 on HBO Max is January 8, 2026.
