Curious what happened after the final episode of The Handmaid's Tale? A new sequel spinoff series, The Testaments, seeks to answer just that question. So, when exactly will the release date for The Testaments Season 1 on Hulu arrive?

The Testaments Season 1 premiere release date is April 8th, 2026 on Hulu. The first three episodes of the show will debut on that day. Comprised of ten episodes, the first season of The Testaments will conclude on May 27, 2026. The show arrives a little less than a year after The Handmaid's Tale concluded on May 27, 2025. And as you are no doubt aware, there are a plethora of upcoming streaming and TV release dates for you to keep in mind. Currently, an official trailer for The Testaments is not available.

Set years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale, The Testaments takes place in a preparatory school and follows Agnes MacKenzie (Chase Infiniti), a pious teenage girl, and Daisy (Lucy Halliday), a Canadian teen whose life is overturned when she discovers a family secret that links her to Gilead. The show sees Ann Dowd reprising the role of Aunt Lydia and Rowan Blanchard as Shunammite.

The release date for The Testaments Season 1 on Hulu is April 8th, 2026.
