Universal Basic Guys Season 3: Release date, timeslot and more
The series follows a pair of brothers who begin to draw Universal Basic Income after their hot dog factory jobs are eliminated by robots
Fox's Universal Basic Guys Season 2 finale debuted on April 12th, 2026, leaving fans asking whether the show would return for a third season. Happily, Fox has renewed the show for Season 3, and you can expect those new episodes to begin airing in fall 2026 alongside the other shows in the Animation Domination lineup.
In Universal Basic Guys, brothers Mark and Hank (both voiced by Adam Malamut) have lost their jobs, but gained a Universal Basic Income as a result - meaning that they don't have to get new ones. So while Mark's wife Tammy (Talia Genevieve) continues to work as a nurse, Mark and Hank have wild adventures as they seek to fill their days with non-work-related activity. We should all be so lucky.
As the saying goes, idle hands are the devil's playthings, and Mark and Hank do their best to live up to that axiom without jobs to occupy their time. In one episode, Mark attempts to bond with Darren, leading to them meeting the Jersey Devil (Jon Glaser), a recurring character. In another episode, Tammy saves a man from choking, leading Mark to grow obsessed with saving a life himself. The show's cast also includes Mark and Tammy's neurotic neighbor, David (Fred Armisen) and his well-paid working wife Andrea (Ali Maki), as well as Tammy's son from a previous marriage, Darren (Brandon Wardell).
In the second season finale, Mark is inspired to train crows to do his bidding... but is it actually the corvids who are training him? Here's a clip from that episode:
Universal Basic Guys Season 3 is slated to debut in Fall 2026 as part of Fox's Animation Domination line-up, with a timeslot of Sunday nights at 9pm Eastern and Pacific, 8pm Central. No official date has been given for the show's return, but based on historical precedent, fans can expect Universal Basic Guys Season 3 to begin in mid-September 2026.
