There are darker, more intense things on the way for Wednesday in season 2, but Bruno actor Noah Taylor is staying mum about them
No spoilers, we promise. Much as we tried to get Wednesday's werewolf heartthrob to spill the beans, Taylor stayed true to the spirit of the show and kept his secrets

While what makes one season of a show "darker" than another is, we suppose, up to the viewer, it's hard to argue that the creators of Netflix's Wednesday aren't dipping into some heavier themes in the sophomore season of their gothic teen drama. And if cast newcomer Noah Taylor, who plays werewolf Bruno, is to be believed, that's a mark of the entire season.
Taylor recently sat down with Popverse for a chat about what it was like making Wednesday season 2 and what's on the way for the story. Asked about the deadlier nature of the second season as opposed to its first, the actor and musician had this to say:
"This season is definitely packed with a lot of intense scenes which were really fun to shoot. It was great getting to play a character who has to switch from his normal everyday state of being, to being thrown into high stake situations. Having such a dynamic range of given circumstances is always fun to work with."
Naturally, we were curious about the specifics of those "intense scenes." Were there any films or TV show, particularly in the horror genre, that informed them from Taylor's point of view?
"I can’t get into specifics," Taylor responded, "But the great thing about a collaborative medium like this is everyone brings in their own reference points and influences which blend together and make something fresh and unique."
Not a very specific answer, we have to admit. But considering the fact that the series stars a bonafide modern scream queen in Jenna Ortega (who starred in such horror films as X, Scream 6, and Death of a Unicorn), we know that Taylor's right about the show having multiple "reference points and influences."
Wednesday season 2 part 1 is on Netflix now, with part 2 of the season coming September 3.
