Who among us doesn't love an odd couple investigating crimes? Whether it's Mulder and Scully, Dale Cooper and Harry S. Truman, Bones and Booth, Holmes and Watson, or any of the pairs featured in True Detective, we love to see the push and pull between two different minds as they try to unravel the truth in front of them. This brings us to Wild Cards, a CBC import to the States, starring Vanessa Morgan as a con artist solving crimes with a down-on-his-luck detective played by Giacomo Gianniotti.

Wild Cards season 3 release date Monday, January 26, 2026 at 8/7c on The CW. Deadline reports that season 3 of Wild Cards takes place a month after season 2, with Vanessa Morgan's character, Max, now working as a police consultant. "Her world immediately is upended by two arrivals: First, Ellis (Gianniotti) returns to the force, cleared of all charges and ready to be her partner again. Second, the woman at Max’s door is revealed to be her long-lost mother, Vivienne (Tamara Taylor) – who Max believed was dead. Vivienne’s shocking return ignites the dangerous, high-stakes events of Season 3 and further upends Max’s already complicated relationship with Ellis."

So, big changes on both the professional and personal fronts are in store for Max, which will play out across the 10-episode season. In terms of the show's future, CBC, which broadcasts the show in Canada, has already renewed Wild Cards for a fourth season. However, it's unknown at this time if The CW will choose to pick up the show for an American audience for another round after season 3. We will just have to wait and see!

Wild Cards season 3 will be released on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 8/7c on The CW.
