X-Men '97 will launch a collaboration with Dave's Hot Chicken to celebrate season 2 of the Disney+ show

Let me tell you something: I've read a lot of Wolverine comics, but I feel like I haven't read enough Wolverine comics where he uses his claws as eating utensils. Laura Kinney's Wolverine has eaten shrimp and orange slices off of one of her claws (like a skewer situation), because she's got the right idea for just about anything. Todd Nauck has drawn a variant cover for Return of Wolverine #1 where he proudly uses his claws as skewers while barbecuing. Logan could be carrying around so many different slices of chicken at once, in any given situation, like eating a Dave's #4 Meal from Dave's Hot Chicken.

Which brings us to what we're actually here to talk about. Beginning July 1 (or today, if you're reading this when it publishes), select locations of Dave's Hot Chicken will be serving an X-Men '97-themed meal while supplies last. A press release reads, "For $13.99, guests can order a Dave’s #4 Meal featuring either a Slider & Fries or Bites & Fries, plus one blind-bag collectible figurine featuring one of four fan-favorite X-Men characters": Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, and Jean Grey.

"X-Men has always been about passionate fans, iconic characters, and bringing people together through great storytelling," said Dave's Hot Chicken CEO, Jim Bitticks. "This collaboration lets us celebrate the return of X-Men ’97 in a way that’s uniquely Dave’s, through great food, collectibles, and an experience fans will want to share."

Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer for Dave's Hot Chicken, Arman Oganesyan, echoed a similar sentiment: "X-Men was a huge part of my childhood, especially Wolverine, and what makes X-Men ’97 so special is that it stayed true to what fans loved about the original. That’s something we relate to at Dave’s; celebrating something our team genuinely loves and creating an experience fans will be excited to be part of."

X-Men '97 season 2 also begins streaming on Disney+ on July 1, so if you play your cards right - sorry, Gambit - you'll be able to sit down to watch the first three episodes of the season with a chicken meal.
