Think of it as a two-course meal

Were you wondering about Bridgerton season 3 after so much silence from Netflix? Well, we've finally received the release dates (yes, plural) for the third season of episodes.

Today, December 12, the streamer shared a 'date announcement' teaser which gives the fandom a definitive answer regarding the show's 2024 return following this year's Queen Charlotte prequel series. You can watch the video below:

For those in a hurry: Bridgerton season 3 will arrive in two parts, much like other recent Netflix shows, with Part 1 premiering May 16th and Part 2 on June 13th. Only on Netflix, of course. The synopsis released a while back promises a main storyline centered around Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). Penelope abandoned her long-standing crush on Colin, and now seeks a husband who can grant her the independence she seeks, something which won't be easy as she doubts herself. Things only get more complicated when, eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope. Big drama ahead!

The two-part release model has been hit-and-miss for Netflix so far. The Crown's final season struggled to recapture the lost magic ahead of the final season's second part debuting this week, but it worked out really well for Stranger Things season 4 in 2022. That might mean that it's just a matter of timing and the quality of the shows - still, it's become quite apparent that Netflix has been trying to space out some key pieces of content in order to keep the least loyal subscribers around for longer periods of time. Whether it's a strategy that's paying off overall remains unclear.
