Absolute Martian Manhunter is ending, but Deniz Camp is still charting the character's future as the catalyst of the Absolute DC event
Absolute Batman writer Scott Snyder confirmed that Camp still has plans for his take on Martian Manhunter, and that those plans will be part of DC's biggest Absolute comic yet

It's true - Absolute Martian Manhunter is bidding an otherworldly farewell after it reaches its twelfth issue. But don't be too sad; we already new that the writer/artist duo behind the story - Deniz Camp and Javier Rodríguez - are already plotting a new project with DC Comics. And now, it's been revealed that writer Camp still isn't done with the titular character.
According to Scott Snyder, Camp is working Absolute Martian Manhunter into a VERY important role in the line's future.
Snyder's revelation comes from Comic Con Portugal, where the Absolute Batman writer was approached by a fan going by the social media tag @iREUS_SA. At a signing, this fan asked about both Camp and MM's future as part of the confirmed 2026 DC Absolute crossover event, and Snyder was more than happy to confirm their hopes.
"He plays a really big role in the event," Snyder said of Martian Manhunter, "He helps bring everybody together. [...] So Deniz is there, in the room. [We're] all in making it together. So it's really fun in that regard; it's like a big, team effort. Deniz is telling his side of what Martian Manhunter will do."
It raises the question - if Martian Manhunter is big and important enough to serve as an apparent catalyst to the first Absolute crossover event (and no, we're not counting the time that Absolute Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman appeared in DC K.O.), then it seems like there's more to the character than can be contained in 12 issues. Don't get us wrong, we're not remotely suggesting Snyder is trying to hint at more AMM in the years to come, but it does make you wonder if there aren't plenty more opportunities for the Absolute line's favorite weirdo to reappear.
Especially since, according to Snyder himself, "there are absolutely no plans of ending" his run on Absolute Batman, and by extension, the Absolute line.
Here's an update to date guide on the Absolute Batman release schedule.
