DC Comics is hoping to expand its hit Absolute Universe in light of the conclusion of Absolute Martian Manhunter coming this June with issue #12. But in what direction should the Absolute Universe go next? If anything, the runaway success of Absolute Martian Manhunter is a testament to how open-minded Absolute Universe readers are. Although MM is undeniably a major DC character - he is an original Justice Leaguer after all - Deniz Camp and Javier Rodriguez's limited series was a wholly unprecedented interpretation of the character.

Now, Absolute Batman writer and one of the guiding creative voices in DC's Absolute line, Scott Snyder, has spoken about the pitches that have been made for potential Absolute books.

"We have some amazing pitches for Swamp Thing and Constantine. There’s a really good one for Aquaman that I very badly want to make happen, but we’re also really concerned about making sure the line stays small and manageable," Snyder said in an interview with ComicPop Returns

As Popverse's resident Justice League Dark reader, I will say that I love the sound of Absolute Swamp Thing and John Constantine, even though I'm curious as to what you could do to subvert Constantine without making him just... a normal guy. I'm joking around here, but the Dark Multiverse version of Constantine to me is just Jared Leto. Or John Lydon these days, or maybe John Lydon during his Sex Pistols days, the poser. And as always, I like seeing more Aquaman.

Hopefully, we'll see what DC has in mind for its next phase of Absolute books in the coming months.
