If there is one thing comic book fans love as much as a good story, it’s a unique collectible. That instinct to collect merchandise of their favorite hero or villain is the origin of the upcoming collaboration between the US Mint and DC Comics. Over the next three years, a selection of coins and medals will be minted featuring some of DC’s most famous heroes – and fans can help choose who gets the honor.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that the first three characters chosen for the DC coin series are Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. They’re the quintessential DC heroes and stand as three of the most recognizable characters in fiction. Their coins should be minted in 2025, but who comes next is up for grabs.
The US Mint has set up a quick survey allowing fans to rank upcoming heroes based on how much they want to see them on a coin. The choices are limited to heroes, so the obvious choice of a Two-Face coin isn’t an option just yet. The options for the rest of the line-up consist of:
- Shazam
- The Flash (Barry Allen)
- Hawkman
- Green Arrow
- Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes)
- Supergirl
- Batgirl
- Robin (Dick Grayson)
- Aquaman
- Black Canary (Dinah Lance)
- Green Lantern (John Stewart)
- Cyborg
The six characters that come out on top in the US Mint’s popularity poll will be turned into commemorative coins and medals – three in 2026 and the final three in 2027 – so if you want to share your opinion and ensure that you see your personal favorite stamped on precious metal, head to the US Mint’s website and take the survey yourself.
