Marvel Midnight is Marvel Comics' newest shared universe, reimagining Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men as darker, horror-inspired versions of themselves. Launching in October 2026, the new imprint begins with Midnight X-Men, Midnight Fantastic Four, and Midnight Spider-Man, introducing an interconnected supernatural Marvel Universe with a dedicated ongoing publishing line.

If you're looking for the Marvel Midnight reading order, you've come to the right place. Below you'll find every announced comic in release order, along with the creative teams, launch schedule, and everything you need to know about Marvel's new horror universe.

Rather than focusing on established horror heroes like Blade or Morbius, Marvel Midnight transforms some of Marvel's biggest superheroes into twisted, supernatural versions of themselves. Marvel describes the line as an ongoing universe rather than a one-off event, with stories designed to reshape familiar heroes through a horror lens.

"The world these creators are building is truly special, and the passion behind the stories they’re envisioning was palpable," says Marvel Comics publisher Dan Buckley, who is also stepping in to be executive editor of the line. "We wanted to match their ambition with this unique launch plan, one that allows both retailers and fans to fully immerse themselves into this new line right from the start. When the clock strikes Midnight on October 7, these three series will unleash a bold new energy that we hope echoes throughout the industry for the foreseeable future.”

The creative teams for the three launch titles are:

  • Midnight X-Men by writer Jonathan Hickman and artist Matteo Della Fonte
  • Midnight Spider-Man by writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artist ScieTronc
  • Midnight Fantastic Four by writer Ben Percy and artist Kev Walker

"The idea of taking a character like Spider-Man and reimagining it through the lens of my favorite horror movies and games... Oh my god, I can't wait for you to see it," says Midnight Spider-Man writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson during a panel recently at Comic-Con: International: San Diego.
