Contrary to popular belief, there are, in fact, three great constants in life. Death and taxes we all know, but a third is that Eiichiro Oda is working furiously on a new One Piece chapter before its weekly release date. A new chapter arrives (almost) every week on the Shonen Jump app, steadily moving the One Piece saga toward its eventual conclusion. The One Piece release date is always just around the corner for manga readers, but when is it exactly?
How often do new One Piece chapters come out?

A new chapter of One Piece comes out most weeks in Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan, with an official English translation coming the same day via both Viz and the Shonen Jump app. However, it is worth noting that Eiichiro Oda does take regular breaks of around one week. These are usually once a month, meaning that you get three chapters released in a row, followed by a one-week break. However, occasional issues cause chapters to be delayed, especially when Oda has health issues or simply needs a well-deserved holiday. Also, there are weeks where Weekly Shonen Jump isn't published, but they are rare.

The curvature of the Earth can play havoc with schedules. New One Piece chapters are released online when new copies of Weekly Shonen Jump hit shelves in Japan. Where can you read One Piece chapters online?
New One Piece chapters are released digitally on both the Viz website and on the Shonen Jump app. Both platforms have English translations available on the same day as the Japanese release, meaning fans in the US can keep up with the One Piece release date alongside fans in Japan.
Can you read One Piece chapters early?
Despite coming out nearly every week, fans don’t like to wait for new One Piece chapters to be released. It is very common to see summaries of what happens in the new chapters by Wednesday, followed by unofficial releases on Thursday or Friday, followed by the official release on Sunday. However, we don’t endorse anime piracy, so we won’t link to any sites that carry these unofficial copies.
What is The One Piece release date?

Back in 2024, it was announced that Wit Studio would be releasing a new One Piece anime called The One Piece. This would be a more faithful adaptation of the manga, without filler, that would start from the very beginning and stream worldwide on Netflix. While we’ve had a few updates over the years about the staff creating the anime, no release date for The One Piece anime has been announced.
What is the most recent arc of the One Piece manga?
Starting with Chapter 1126, the Straw Hat pirates have been embroiled in the Elbaph Arc, which picks up after the end of the Egghead Arc. It dives heavily into the God Valley Incident, which set up many of the events of the current era of One Piece. We don’t yet know how many chapters the Elbaph Arc will be; at the current 50 chapters, we’re likely around halfway through it.
