The Batman: Arkham video game series has been a success because the games fulfill a fantasy that so many of us have had at one point or another: to be Batman. But what if you're craving a walk on the wild side? Enter new board game Batman: The Animated Series - Enemies of Gotham City.

As revealed at Gen Con 2025 and reported by ICv2, Batman: The Animated Series - Enemies of Gotham City is described as a board game for 2-5 players where you take on the role of a Gotham villain and battle it out for the chance to gain control of various districts within Gotham. Gameplay is estimated to run between 45 minutes to 180 minutes.

While Enemies of Gotham City is undoubtedly a villain-driven game, ICv2 notes that, "Batman and his allies will be a constant thorn in players' sides, capturing and sending worker goons to an Arkham Asylum cube tower for holding," because nothing in Gotham happens without the Bat-Family being aware of it. In total, Enemies of Gotham City has 12 different villains you can choose to play as, and the game emphasizes worker placement and drafting mechanics. Amongst the villains are some iconic characters: The Joker, Harley Quinn, and Mr. Freeze are explicitly named by the manufacturer, and Two-Face and Poison Ivy have significant appearances on the packaging.

Batman: The Animated Series - Enemies of Gotham City will hit shelves at your local game shop on May 15, 2026.
