Batman: Caped Crusader is breaking out of animation as its first video game adaptation has just been announced. Not only will Amazon Prime subscribers get to watch the new season of Batman: Caped Crusader, but they’ll also get to play the new video game for free on the same day. Best of all, several of the series’ voice cast are returning, including the newly announced voice of the Joker.

On day one of San Diego Comic Con, Amazon announced that Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles is coming exclusively to the Amazon Luna platform the same day that Season 2 of the series launches on Prime Video. Matthew Needam, who was announced as the new voice of the Joker in Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2, is portraying the villain in the game. Meanwhile, Hamish Linklater is back as Batman and Michelle C. Bonilla is playing Detective Montoya.

Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles plays through Amazon Luna, so there isn’t any need for downloads or consoles to purchase. Everything is included in your Amazon Prime subscription. According to the press release, the game is an 11-episode cooperative detective adventure that can be played with 1-4 players using smartphones as controllers.

This latest Batman video game is meant to be the perfect companion to Batman: Caped Crusader fans who want to dive a little more into the spiritual successor to Batman: The Animated Series, solving mysteries alongside the Dark Knight himself. Both the Amazon Luna game and the series take Amazon Prime subscribers back to Gotham City on July 31, 2026.
