Macaulay Culkin and Optimus Prime were the inspiration for two Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach characters

According to Marta Svetek and Kellen Goff - who play Gregory and Glamrock Freddy, respectively - the 90s inspired Five Nights at Freddy's Security Breach in more than just the Chuck E. Cheese way

Five Nights at Freddy's wears its Chuck E. Cheese inspiration on its sleeve, but there are more Millennial childhood influences on the megahit Gen Z game than that pizza-loving rat and his cover band. According to two voice actors who star in the game's ninth core-series entry, Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, two icons of the decade were in their minds while they were in the recording booth.

Speaking at MCM Comic Con in May of 2025, Gregory and Roxanne voice actor Marta Svetek recalled that hr young boy character voice spawned from the cleverest lad of the decade in question: Kevin McCallister.

"Gregory was very much inspired by sort of the 90's family movie," recounts the actor, "Sort of Macaulay Culkin, Home Alone. A little bit more excitable [...] it was my first child voice to do, and I was really nervous. I almost didn't audition for it."

Meanwhile, co-star Kellen Goff, who plays a punked-out, good guy version of series villain Freddy Fazbear - known by fans as Glamrock Freddy - said he was keeping a different kind of hero in mind.

"Scott [Cawthon, creator] asked me directly for that one," he said, "He said, 'Optimus Prime.' That's what he wanted. Optimus Prime if he was more cuddly and round. And so [does the voice], this came up. I think I did a few different takes of it, but he liked that one."

Now we're curious to know what other icons of the age are factoring into these voice actors' performances. next thing you know, someone's going to claim that William Afton has something to do with that other killer from Scream
