San Diego Comic Con is always a paradise for collectors; booths are stocked to the brim with comics, toys, and other vaulable merch. But no collector has ever been able to get their hands on the booths themselves...

Until now.

Announced by Image Comics president and comics maverick Todd McFarlane, the "Buy the Booth" auction will alow fans to bid on actual pieces of this year;s Image Comics booth. Pieces being sold will be signed by the McFarlane and many feature some version of brainchild Spawn, such as the Gunslinger, Angel, and Medieval variants.

Waitaminute, is that Haunt on there too? Hoo boy, my wallet's gonna hate this...

McFarlane made the announcement July 21 via his new channel on the livestream shopping platform Whatnot. Later, Image sent out a press release on with McFarlane explaining their decision to auction off pieces of the booth further, here's what he had to say:

"As a creator who likes to try new things and experiment from time to time, teaming up with the Whatnot crew to help us interact and auction a few items at this year's San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) seemed like a perfect time to have some potential fun,” said Todd McFarlane, President and CEO of Image Comics. “Aside from selling pieces of the artwork, with my signature included, from our actual booth set-up at SDCC, I will also get a chance to talk to and listen to a new group of fans. I'm looking forward to seeing how all of this turns out and possibly doing some even cooler stuff moving forward with Whatnot."

Fans interested in participating have the rest of the month to follow McFarlane's Whatnot account, when the auction will go live some time in August. As of this writing, no official date or time has been specified.

But if one thing can be said about the Toddfather, it's that he keeps his fans informed. As soon as he knows the date, we're pretty sure we will too.
