Emma Myers draws a stark difference between her Netflix Wednesday role as Enid and a Good Girl's Guide to Murder lead

"[Wednesday's] Enid is so 'la la la' very smiley and very out there, and Pip is the complete opposite," says Emma Myers of her Good Girl's Guide to Murder character

Netflix's Wednesday was a grand entrance for lead actor Jenna Ortega onto the scene, but the literal flipside to her Wednesday Addams character was the strikingly-optimistic Enid Sinclair, played by Emma Myers. With Myers, Ortega, and the rest of the cast currently filming Wednesday season 2, Myers' other upcoming project will see her step into the lead role - for a character strikingly different than Enid.

And Myers is excited to show her range.

"It was interesting to be seen past my character in Wednesday. Enid is so 'la la la' very smiley and very out there, and Pip is the complete opposite," Myers told the crowd during the show's official MCM Comic Con panel in May 2024. "Pip is very reserved, and very smart and forward-thinking, and she has a big brain to her. It was kind of touching to be thought of in a way that is so different from Enid. And I love Pip so much."

Dolly Wells, who is Good Girl's Guide to Murder's primary director and was a key decision maker in the casting, said that from the first meeting with Myers they knew who their Pip Fritz-Amobi should be.

"When we first met Emma, we were like 'Oh my gosh, this would just be perfect!'We could just see Pip!'" said Wells.

According to Myers however, that first meeting ended on a questionable note - with a challenge she wasn't sure she could achieve.

"I remember getting an email asking me to meet with Dolly just to see how things worked out," says Myers. "I had a meeting and they were like, 'By the way, you have to do a British accent?' And I was like, there's no way this is gonna happen."

Spoilers: it happened.

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder debuts July 1 for those in the UK on BBC Three and the BBC iPlayer, with international airings planned for Netflix and more later in the year.
