X-Men’s Beast, Kelsey Grammer, had fun with Pedro Pascal on the set of Avengers: Doomsday but can’t remember his name
Kelsey Grammer, who will reprise his X-Men role as Beast in Avengers: Doomsday, had great things to say about Pedro Pascal - even if he can't remember his name

Avengers: Doomsday will have a lot of people running around the big screen when it hits theaters next year. There are so many names to keep track of. However, you'd figure that Kelsey Grammer, best known for playing Beast in the original Fox X-Men films, would be on top of knowing who his scene partners are. That said, this is 2025, and if we've learned anything, it's that the world can always find new ways to surprise us.
Case in point: while being interviewed by Entertainment Tonight, Grammer spoke about the experiences he's had on set for Avengers: Doomsday. Grammer noted that he "had a great time with the new guy from Fantastic Four," and it wasn't initially clear who he was referring to, as three out of the Fantastic Four are men. The interviewer then prompted Grammer by saying, "Pedro," jogging Grammer's memory. "Pedro, thanks. Wonderful guy. I really, really enjoyed hanging out with him, and we worked together some," Grammer said.
Beyond the fact that this hints at Beast and Mister Fantastic working together, perhaps on some science stuff, it's definitely eyebrow-raising to see Grammer forget Pascal's name. We've all had moments of crisis where we really enjoyed spending time with someone without ever learning their name. I went half the year once in catechism without knowing the name of my teacher, okay? But unlike catechism, movie sets are really good at labeling who's who. It says so on the call sheet.
Listen, I get that Grammer is 70 years old. But Pedro Pascal didn't get the Reed Richards job out of thin air. I don't expect Grammer to be a diehard Buffy fan (although, as I said earlier, it is 2025, you never know) and to have followed Pascal's career from its early days, but Pascal exploded in popularity when he joined Game of Thrones in 2014. Oberyn's death at the hands of The Mountain is still traumatizing more than a decade later. And, of course, Pascal became the patron saint of dads everywhere when he debuted as The Mandalorian in 2019, and then the patron saint of deeply flawed and messed-up dads everywhere with The Last of Us. You could say people like the guy, and more than a few of them know his name.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released December 18, 2026.
