And now it’s official: Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down as the head of Lucasfilm, with Dave Filoni — current chief creative officer at the studio and creative force behind The Mandalorian and Ahsoka television series — is one of the two people in line to replace her. Yes, I said two people.

Filoni will be joined at the head of the company by Lucasfilm president and general manager Lynwen Brennan; the two will take on the titles of president and CCO of Lucasfilm, and co-president of Lucasflm, respectively, and report directly to Alan Bergman, co-chairman of Disney Entertainment according to reports.

In a statement, Disney CEO Bob Iger said, “When we acquired Lucasfilm more than a decade ago, we knew we were bringing into the Disney family not only one of the most beloved and enduring storytelling universes ever created, but also a team of extraordinary talent led by a visionary filmmaker – someone who had been handpicked by George Lucas himself, no less. We’re deeply grateful for Kathleen Kennedy’s leadership, her vision, and her stewardship of such an iconic studio and brand.”

Her departure from the studio has been expected for close to a year by this point, but Kennedy isn’t leaving Star Wars or Lucasfilm entirely; she’ll be attached to both this summer’s The Mandalorian and Grogu, and next year’s Star Wars: Starfighter as producer. She’ll also continue to produce projects moving forward.
