After several years, we’ve finally got a third season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime to transport us to a brand-new world. This season sees the kingdom of Tempest have to contend with the Ten Great Saints, but what future adventures will Rimuru and their monster nation face when That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season four comes out?
There hasn’t been any announcement on whether That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will be getting a season four, but that isn’t terribly unusual considering that the third season is still airing in Japan and on Crunchyroll. New seasons aren’t usually confirmed until after the final episode of the current one, sometimes years or months later. The popularity of the anime makes it likely, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens in the future.
There is some confusion about the number of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime seasons that have been released and that is because of the way that Japanese television organizes itself. The year is broken into four seasons called cours, with new shows typically running across a single cour, which is around 13 weeks long. To make matters more confusing, the same season might run across two cours in different parts of the year, like when season one of Spy x Family ran in the Spring and Fall 2022 seasons, with no new episodes airing in Summer of that year.
The first two seasons of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ran across two non-consecutive cours, with some fans mistaking this for four distinct seasons. However, the third season – which is once again running for two cours – started airing in March 2024.
We don’t expect the third season to run until September 2024, so the earliest we could look for an announcement about That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season four to come is in late September or early October 2024. However, it may be several months or even years before Rimuru returns to build a new nation for monsters everywhere.
