There's a secret doc with George R.R. Martin's Dunk & Egg ideas in it, and  A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms showrunner Ira Parker has access

Want to know what George R.R. Martin has planned for Dunk & Egg beyond A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms seasons 1-3? Good news! All you have to do is become the showrunner HBO hires

Greetings Popversians, and welcome to Lore Corner! Each week, video producer Ashley V. Robinson and Popverse's writing staff are going to take you deep behind the scenes of some of pop culture's most exciting adaptations, such as HBO's lovable A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Enjoy!

You'll recall Popverse reporting on the plan already in place, should A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms go beyond three seasons. Not that that's confirmed at all - so far, it looks like the show will keep the three series of novellas written by George R.R. Martin as inspiration for each of its three seasons - but we do know that Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin has plans if HBO wants to keep it going.

And now, we know where those top-secret plans are kept.

The reveal comes from an interview that showrunner Ira Parker did with Variety, published January 18. During the discussion, Parker is asked about how much of Martin's future plans for Dunk & Egg (the series' leads) he actually knows about, and the answer would make any Westeros fan extremely jealous

"There’s a document that few people have read," said Parker. And more than that, it's a document that's hacker-proof.

"[Martin] works all offline," the showrunner continued, "His computer is not connected to the internet, so things have to be printed out and passed around that way. I’ve seen the plan for 12, 13, 14, 15, maybe, of these novellas. It would be fantastic, but I don’t want to get carried away here. Let’s see if people watch the show. Maybe we’re just one, one and a half, two and done and we all go home, but it’s a lot of fun to write in this world so I hope we get to do more."

Well Ira, HBO's own boss just confirmed that the show will be going to at least season 3, so there's more than a zero-chance that you're not getting carried away at all. In the meantime, though, maybe set up your own offline work system. You never know who might be watching.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is streaming now on HBO Max. For more Westeros secrets (though maybe not ones this big), check out Game of Thrones expert Ashley V. Robinson and staff writer Grant DeArmitt in this week's episode of Lore Corner. Just be wary of spoilers...

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has brought Westeros back to HBO Max, and Popverse has got more Game of Thrones articles than could fit on a spiky chair. We've got everything you need to dive into the series, including:

Grant DeArmitt: Grant DeArmitt (he/him) likes horror, comics, and the unholy union of the two. In the past, and despite their better judgment, he has written for Nightmare on Film Street and Newsarama. He lives in Brooklyn with his partner, Kingsley, and corgi, Legs.
