Animal Control Season 5: Release date, timeslot and Joel McHale's abs

The series follows the employees of a Seattle municipal animal control officer

On workplace sitcom Animal Control, Senior Animal Control Officer Frank Shaw (Joel McHale) leads a team who is devoted to serving and protecting the animals of Seattle. The Season 4 finale of the hilarious series debuted on April 23rd, 2026, and fans of the show were left to wonder whether Season 5 was on the way. Today we can tell you that Fox has indeed renewed the show for a fifth season, and you can expect those episodes to arrive in the fall of 2026.

In addition to Shaw, Animal Control also boasts a full roster of hilarious characters. Shaw's partner is Fred "Shred" Taylor (Michael Rowland), a former professional snowboarder with a heart of gold that offsets Shaw's rough demeanor. The director of the precinct is Emily Price (Vella Lovell), a well-intentioned if overly anxious woman who becomes involved in a romance with Shred. Working alongside Shaw and Shred are fellow officers Amit Patel (Ravi V. Patel), a man with a big family and a bigger appetite, and Victoria Sands (Grace Palmer), a promiscuous bisexual immigrant who alternatively serves as Shaw's love interest and his romantic rival.

Rounding out the cast is Templeton Dudge (Gerry Dee), Shaw's professional nemesis and a transfer from another precinct, as well as Templeton's lackey Daisy Cannon (Kyla Pratt) and Emily's assistant Bettany (Krystal Smith). Here's a clip from Animal Control in which Shred is honored for receiving his first on-duty bite from an animal as Shaw attempts to rescue 24 kittens in 24 hours:

Animal Control Season 5 will debut in autumn of 2026. The show will be the sole live-action series in the two-hour animation domination block on Sunday nights at 8:30 PM ET/PT, alongside The Simpsons, Universal Basic Guys and Grimsburg.
