Former child actors turned actual play legends Johnson & Jaffe are back for 24 all-new episodes of Weird Kids, streaming on Critical Role's Beacon.tv next month

Be sure I mean it as a compliment when I say: Critical Role is for the Weird Kids. In fact, that's probably part of the reason why, when OG cast members Ashley Johnson and Taliesin Jaffe started a video podcast, they gave it exactly that name. And since those same freaks that the podcast was made of, by, and for show no signs of waning interest, Johnson and Jaffe are headed back to Weirdsville for more.
Popverse is thrilled to report that new episodes of Weird Kids are on their way.
Weeks after the cast hinted at more episodes of the podcast at ECCC '26, Critical Role officially announced 24 (!) new episodes of Johnson and Jaffe's podcast April 16. The first of that batch is set to debut this May 5 on the company's streaming home, Beacon, with new episodes every Tuesday. Check out the trailer for this upcoming season below.
In case you don't already know, Weird Kids is an exploration of the all the strange, scarring, and spectacular memories that both Johnson and Jaffe formed growing up as child actors. From their brushes with Hollywood legends to their time on recognizable film sets, the Critical Role pair share what brought them into their very niche area of showbusiness - all set on a stage recognizable to anyone who grew up in the golden age of kids' TV.
"Coming back for more episodes of Weird Kids feels a little like reopening the strangest scrapbook imaginable," Johnson said in a statement, "We get to talk about the people, places, and moments that shaped us, and somehow it’s equal parts hilarious, surreal, and weirdly healing. I’m so excited to invite people back into our little world."
"There is something deeply satisfying about taking all the wonderfully strange debris left behind by childhood and turning it into conversation," agreed Jaffe "This lets us dig even deeper into the beautiful absurdity of growing up weird, growing up in Hollywood, and somehow surviving with our sense of humor intact."
Weird Kids returns May 5 to Beacon.tv.
With two animated series on Prime Video, Campaign 4 in full swing, and so much more Exandrian lore to come, Critical Role is showing no signs of slowing down. That's why the adventuring party at Popverse are here to bring you everything we can from those nerdy-ass voice actors & Bo., including:
- Critical Role release schedule

- Taliesin Jaffe on playing Mollymauk Tealeaf for Campaign 2 vs. playing him for Prime Video
- Matt Mercer's homebrew warrior class (created originally for Vin Diesel)
...and much, much more. Roll initiative, player. Magic awaits.
