Critical Role's Marisha Ray would love to see Laura Bailey on House of the Dragon, but Bailey has another fantasy franchise in mind
The Legend of Vox Machina's Ray & Bailey are already icons in the fantasy genre, but when asked to fancast each other in different franchises, the OG Critical Role stars had other sword & sorcery stories in mind

Critical Role lovers have been fancasting the TTRPG series's founding members in other fantasy roles ever since the show came out 10+ years ago. And apparently, so, too, have those founders. You'll probably remember Popverse reporting on the fact that Laura Bailey (The Legend of Vox Machina's Vex) sees Marisha Ray (The Mighty Nein's Beau) as a certain role in the upcoming Dungeon Crawler Carl series, but Ray has ideas of her own about where Bailey should land, fantasy-wise.
Even though Bailey herself might not 100% agree.
All this talk of fancasting happened at a live taping of Collider Ladies Night, where host Perri Nemiroff spoke to OG Rolers Ray, Bailey, and Ashley Johnson about what roles they could see each other in in other major franchises. And while everyone agreed that Johnson would be incredible in the Alien saga, the picks for Bailey were a bit more divided.
"For Laura," Ray began. "I was going to say House of the Dragon, or Game of Thrones. That's what I want to see. I want to see you in like full fantasy regalia commanding armies and driving men to jump out of buildings. Stuff like that."
OK, so maybe 'divided' is the wrong word, because to be perfectly clear, Bailey very much did love that idea. It's only that, when it comes to high fantasy, she sees herself as a bit more of a classicist, as she revealed later on in the discussion.
"I would love to do something for like like Lord of the Rings," said the voice actor, "Some J.R.R. Tolkien. I want to be an elf. God, I want to be an elf."
I mean, one doesn't preclude the other, as I'll remind all your casting directors out there reading this.
