Ex-Daredevil showrunner partners with Michael B. Jordan for even more boxing than his Marvel Studios show in first Creed spinoff

The Rocky spin-off gets its own spin-off as Delphi looks set to debut on Amazon's Prime Video service sometime in the future.

It is a golden age for fans of spin-offs. After the success of the three Creed films starring Michael B. Jordan, which were themselves spin-offs from the iconic Rocky series, Amazon has greenlit a new series that is a spin-off of those movies. Delphi, the first series set in the Creed and Rocky series, has been announced, with Prime Video ordering a full series of the show.

Michael B. Jordan returns as executive producer on the series, which focuses on the young boxers at the Delphi gym. The press release also confirms that the series will premiere exclusively on Prime Video, though it doesn’t give any indication of a potential release window. Jordan did mention that this series would stay true to the Rocky and Creed franchises, focusing on "hard work, determination, fight for something bigger than yourself," plus the always important element of family. "We're building something special here, and I'm excited to introduce you to new fighters that will walk into the Delphi."

Considering that this is the initial announcement that the series is going to go into production, we shouldn’t expect to see Delphi on our screens before 2026 or later. Delphi is the gym where both Apollo Creed and, later, his son train at in the Rocky and Creed films.

In addition to Michael B. Jordan, who starred in the three Creed films and directed the latest, on board, Marco Ramirez, best known as a writer on Daredevil and The Defenders, will serve as showrunner for Delphi. Notably, Ramirez was the showrunner for season two of Daredevil, so at least we know he can get two men believably punching each other on camera.

In addition to waiting for a release date, we’re also waiting for any casting news. Will Jordan return to the franchise as a cameo? Will Wood Harris return as Little Duke, the owner and head trainer at Delphi Gym? We won’t know until the show goes deeper into production.

Delphi, a spin-off of the Creed movies (which are themselves spin-offs from Rocky) is coming to Prime Video, with Michael B. Jordan attached as executive producer.
