Critical Role is reviving All Work No Play, with Marisha Ray teasing some "crazy ideas"

All Work No Play will return for another season, and the Critical Role crew promise some “crazy ideas”

Imagine a show that has ghost hunting, fire spinning, chainsaw art, magic, and more. This is just some of the many insane things you see in All Work No Play, a webshow from the Critical Role crew. A typical episode focuses on Sam Riegel, Liam O’Brien, and other friends from the Critical Role crew trying out a new activity like weapon forging or goat yoga.

Marisha Ray, who serves as one of the show’s creative directors, recently revealed that a new season is in the works, and it’s going to be epic.

“We have some ideas for a really big, really ambitious brand-new season of All Work No Play,” Marisha Ray says during a Critical Role spotlight panel at Emerald City Comic Con 2026. “We just had a meeting about it two days ago. We had some crazy ideas,” Sam Riegel adds.

“Are you changing the name to just All Work? Because that would be great,” Taliesin Jaffe suggests. “It’s a workplace comedy. We dispatch superheroes,” Riegel jokes.

That last exchange may be a joke, but Riegel did promise some crazy ideas, so while we probably won’t see a workplace comedy with superheroes, we’re definitely going to get something nutty. Don’t forget, past episodes had ghost hunting and weapon forging, so there’s no telling what we’re going to get next.

With two animated series on Prime Video, Campaign 4 in full swing, and so much more Exandrian lore to come, Critical Role is showing no signs of slowing down. That's why the adventuring party at Popverse are here to bring you everything we can from those nerdy-ass voice actors & Bo., including:

...and much, much more. Roll initiative, player. Magic awaits.
