The Amazing Digital Circus cast knows all about Peeled Jax, and he's even headcannon for one of them
Michael Kovach, who voices Jax on The Amazing Digital Circus, has seen that creepy meme you kids are sharing about his character. And apparently, that's enough to convince him it's real

I'm no expert, but I think it's hard to deny that The Amazing Digital Circus owes some of its existence and popularity to creeypasta. Brightly-colored, existential horrors feel right out of a 4chan post from about 2012, and to this day, eerie memes still play a big part in the webseries' circulation. In fact, one particularly haunting image from a recent episode is getting the same kind of buzz that, say, Pirate Cove was getting a little over a decade ago - that is, the idea of the Peeled Jax. A hot topic on TADC forums, it turns out that the cast actually knows plenty about this unsettling pic, and for one of them, it's an unofficial part of the canon.
OK, let's take a step back to explain what we're working with here. "Peeled Jax" refers to the theory that, underneath the silicone-like purple skin of rabbit-shaped protagonist Jax, there lies a flayed, yellow cartoon musculature. As far as we can tell, the idea first appeared when TADC creator Gooseworx shared a picture that glitched into existence during one of the episodes' productions, seemingly confirming that fans' ideas of the character's inner workings were correct.
Then, in one of the freakiest moments of episode 8, called hjsakldfhl, a hallucinating Jax actually gets his skin peeled off, revealing the yellow underneath. This, paired with a similarly skinned Jax figure released by the Animiniz line, seemed to confirm that Peeled Jax was getting pretty darn close to being canon in the show.
Smash cut to Emerald City Comic Con 2026, when The Amazing Digital Circus voice cast was taking fan questions before a backed room in Seattle. At one point in the discussion, a fan asked of the cast - that is, Alex Rochon, Lizzie Freeman, and Michael Kovach - what they thought their characters were 'made out of.' Kovach, who plays Jax himself, came out with an answer that makes this creepy fan theory look even more plausible.
"Have you seen the Peeled Jax meme?" asked Kovach, and the audience responded in a way that said yes, they had.
"The way that it works is [Jax's] 3D model is, like, the purple layer is just skin. Then everything underneath is yellow for the eyes and the teeth. There's pictures of it [...] it's really creepy and weird. It's really funny though. So I imagine he's just this weird yellow blob underneath everything."
Well there you go, Circus fans. Peeled Jax canon has been confirmed... for one of the actors, at least.
The Amazing Digital Circus is streaming on YouTube and Netflix now. You can check out the Amazing Digital Circus panel from ECCC '26 featuring Alex Rochon, Lizzie Freeman, and Michael Kovach below.
