Sam Riegel wants to do a Muppet Babies-inspired show for Critical Role called Calamity Babies
Sam Riegel is looking to produce more family friendly content for Critical Role

In 2025 Critical Role expanded their programming with Wildemount Wildlings, a three-part miniseries aimed at younger audiences. Sam Riegel, who served as the Game Master, is hoping this is just the beginning.
“I am always looking for family friendly content for our channel,” Sam Riegel says during a Critical Role spotlight panel at Emerald City Comic Con 2026. “Obviously we did the Wildemount Wildlings miniseries last year. I would love to revisit that in some way, but there’s Exandria stories that could be family friendly.”
“I’ve always wondered about the next class of young Ashari. Maybe how does Keyleth run the Aramente. Or maybe, like in the way there was Muppet Babies, maybe there is Calamity Babies. Like a baby Loquatius. A baby Cerrit with his baby babies.”
Calamity Babies is a project we have to see. Maybe they could use puppets or stop-motion for that. The idea seems far-fetched but so have half of the things the Critical Role gang has done, so I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss this. Who knows, maybe we’ll be writing about a Calamity Babies panel one day.

With two animated series on Prime Video, Campaign 4 in full swing, and so much more Exandrian lore to come, Critical Role is showing no signs of slowing down. That's why the adventuring party at Popverse are here to bring you everything we can from those nerdy-ass voice actors & Bo., including:
- How to watch Critical Role in order
- Travis Willingham on the differences between The Legend of Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein
- Taliesin Jaffe on playing Mollymauk Tealeaf for Campaign 2 vs. playing him for Prime Video
- Matt Mercer's homebrew warrior class (created originally for Vin Diesel)
...and much, much more. Roll initiative, player. Magic awaits.
