Let's get the big news out of the way first - Invincible, the Prime Video-streaming, R-Rated, superhero satire known for its exquisite cameos, has been officially renewed for season 6. And to make sure it really sparkles, the creators have announced plans to add a new player to the mix, one that they found on a... well, on a Prime Video-streaming, R-Rated, superhero satire known for its exquisite cameos.

Invincible fans, welcome The Boys' Jack Quaid to the cast.

The double-shot news comes from the folks over at Variety, who are in France right now for the Annecy Animation Festival. Part of the festival this year was a Prime Video spotlight panel (the first of its kind at the event), which featured Invincible creator, executive producer, and showrunner Robert Kirkman as a speaker. According to the outlet, it was Kirkman himself that announced not just Quaid's involvement, but his character.

Jack Quaid will lend his voice to the character of Gravitator, starting with the show's upcoming chapter, season 5. The character, whose comic book alter-ego is only given as 'Chris,' is an ex-villain and non-superpowered individual who encounters Invincible/Mark Grayson. Rather than rely on tricks of physics and/or physiology, Gravitator's only advantage is his gift for incredible technology.

What we don't know at this point is how Quaid's Gravitator will fit into season 6 or, indeed, into season 5, which is expected some time in the early months of next year. We do know, however, that if you're going to get someone on your team to charmingly dismantle the ideas we have about the superhero genre, it's Mr. Jack Quaid.

And hell, I'm not even talking about The Boys just there. We have any Novocaine fans present?
