Before Pennywise comes to HBO in IT: Welcome to Derry, he’s coming to your gaming table in a Betrayal at House on the Hill expansion pack

Betrayal at the Neibolt House: The Evil of Pennywise weds a classic Stephen King villain to Hasbro's megahit horror boardgame in time to kick halloween off early

Don't let the ending of IT: Chapter Two fool you: The evil influence of Pennywise the Dancing Clown is still growing. I'm sure I don't need to tell you of the many places Pennywise has already invaded - your merch shops, your comic cons, your drag brunches - nor do I need to tell you that he'll be on your small screens this fall, when prequel series IT: Welcome to Derry debuts on HBO. What I might need to warn you about, though, is that not even your boardgame table is safe, as Hasbro has officially announced a Pennywise expansion to Betrayal at House on the Hill.

Betrayal at the Neibolt House: The Evil of Pennywise, as it's officially called, essentially adds Stephen King flavors to the pre-existing purpose of the game. If you haven't played Betrayal at House on the Hill, the purpose of the game is for the majority of players to wander through a location and defeat an evil entity/event embodied by one or two of their gamemates. To IT-ify the premise, Hasbro has added new areas of the central location to explore, and worked villains Pennywise and Henry Bowers into list of evils to choose from.

Now let's be clear here - this is not a new game that Hasbro's releasing just as Spooky Season 2025 is around the corner. In order to use this pack, you'll have to first purchase a copy of the base game, Betrayal at House on the Hill (which is, from personal experience, a worthwhile buy). Then you can start exploring the Neibolt House, get ready , and of course, go head-to-head with Pennnywise.

Betrayal at the Neibolt House: The Evil of Pennywise is available now. IT: Welcome to Derry premieres on HBO and HBO Max October 2025.
