Few returns have become as highly anticipated as One Piece. Since going on its longest hiatus ever in October 2024, fans have been making waiting for Luffy and the Straw Hats to return for the Egghead arc in April 2025. Now, not only do we know that it is coming back a day earlier than expected, but we’re getting not one but two new episodes of One Piece on the first weekend in April.
Previously, we’d expected the One Piece anime to return on April 6, 2025, which would be in line with its usual Sunday timeslot. Now, Toei Animation and Crunchyroll have confirmed that Episode 1123 of One Piece will air on April 5, followed by Episode 1124 on April 6. That’s right – we’re getting a double-premiere weekend of One Piece after six months of waiting.
Don’t worry if the long wait means you don’t entirely remember what the Straw Hats have been up to on Egghead Island, because we’re also getting a recap episode of the Egghead arc Part 1 on April 5, 2025. The 83-minute special will give you a refresher of what has happened since the crew stepped foot on the futuristic Egghead Island and get you ready for the adventures that come next.
While One Piece has been on hiatus, fans have gotten to see a remastered version of the Fishman Island arc. The last episode of that is expected to air on March 30, paving the way for new episodes of one of the most enduring shows in anime history. One Piece is back for the weekend of April 5-6 with two new episodes and a recap of the Egghead arc so far.
